Welcome!

Welcome to my new website! I’m so happy you found your way here.

Home has always been important to me. It remains the center of my work, not just the place I write, but also as the theme in many of my stories. Most of my characters are going through a sea change, searching for what has now become home for them.

This new website explores those dimensions of home—home as a haven and as a muse. In the spirit of the home theme, my bio is told through a series of rooms. This blog’s mission will be to share a bit of my life and writing process with you. Also I’ll reach out to other creative folks to find out how home shapes their work.

This new website couldn’t have happened without a wonderful team. Thank you, Josh Rogers for your technical expertise; Shannon Renee Holt for your creative vision and keeping me focused on my home theme; Donald Saaf for the beautiful illustration on the home page, and Jacob Rogers for a lovely logo. And thank you, dear readers, for reading, teaching, and buying my books. Without you, I couldn’t work at what I love to do best.

I hope you’ll enjoy perusing my website and that you will visit me often here. Until then, I’ll leave you with a few words from Laura Ingalls Wilder—“Home is the nicest word there is.”

Don’t you agree?
